Angelegenheiten eines Steins
2025 - ongoing

The work takes a colonial monument in Leipzig as its starting point and unfolds a network of references between stone(s), photography, artificial intelligence, the artist and minerals. The erratic boulder monument appears as a sediment of history and at the same time as a material hub of colonial and technological interdependencies. The stone becomes a figure of thought - a counterpart, a projection surface, a resistance, a resonating body.

Between subjective trace and analytical gesture, the work questions the possibility of a different approach to image and history. It proposes a counter-practice: one of listening, a tentative approach that understands memory not as a completed narrative, but as a resistant and constant process.
