I work with photography, video, writing, and installation. My artistic practice focuses on gestures, bodies, and symbols—how they are attributed, inscribed, and circulated within a visually influenced culture. I am particularly interested in concepts and re-/productions of otherness, as well as in the entanglements of photography with global power structures, both historically and in contemporary contexts. My work combines subjective, emotional perspectives with theoretical approaches, often incorporating research and archival material. I explore the embedding of images within historical narratives and investigate how visual languages shape and reflect social relations, especially within the legacy of colonialism.
A recurring theme in my work is the tension between image and body, between representation and presence. My practice often has a performative quality, emphasizing the temporality and fragility of images and their meanings. In addition to my individual projects, I regularly collaborate with other artists, engaging in shared processes of exchange and dialogue. These collaborative works are an essential part of my understanding of artistic practice as a relational, open-ended field.
